Anneke Harger
Anneke Harger is German-American Mezzo Soprano residing in New York City. Ms Harger has an extensive repertoire that has spanned performances across the United States and Germany. Her roles encompass a diverse range, from Dido and The First Witch in "Dido and Aeneas" to Zita in "Gianni Schicchi," Sister Mathilde in "Dialogues of the Carmelites," and Sorella Cercatrice in "Suor Angelica." Notably, she has graced the stage as a concert soloist, Ms. Harger has performed Stravinsky’s "Les Noces," Orff’s "Carmina Burana," and Handel’s oratorios such as "The Messiah" and "Jephtha." Renowned for her mastery of early music, Ms. Harger has captivated audiences in Germany with her interpretation of masterworks from the early music repertoire. Her performance in Rodelinda was lauded by the Allgemeine Zeitung in Mainz for “Ms. Hargers ability to evoke a profound and somber introspection." Moreover, Ms. Harger's versatility extends to contemporary music, where she has originated roles such as Adelgunde in the world premiere of "The Strange Child" with Kamraton New Music Ensemble and as a fellow at the Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice in Boston. Most recently, she originated the role of Dunya in the world premiere of "Transgression" with Bluegrass Opera in Kentucky.
